The TCR Eastern Europe series is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season, promising intense competition across six renowned racing circuits in Central Europe. All indications suggest that the battle for titles will most likely be between Hyundai Janík Motorsport and Aditis Racing.
Several teams have already confirmed their participation, underscoring the competitive landscape of the series. Hyundai Janík Motorsport has dominated the teams classification over the past three years and secured the driver’s championship twice in 2023 and 2024. Three years ago, Petr Semerád from Václav Janík’s team competed against Aditis Racing driver Bartosz Groszek. Everything suggests that this rivalry between the two Czech teams will reignite this season.
Hyundai Janík Motorsport will field two Hyundai Elantras for Jiří Zbožínek and strong favorite Adam Kout, who finished as runner-up last season. Meanwhile, Aditis Racing will compete with two Audi RS3s driven by last year’s promising newcomer Martin Kadlečík and Poland’s Bartosz Groszek, the 2022 TCR Eastern Europe champion, who returns aiming to reclaim his top spot.
Promoter Josef Křenek expressed his excitement for the upcoming season: „We are truly excited about the 2025 TCR Eastern Europe season. I’m looking forward to seeing new rivalries, thrilling battles on track, and the amazing stories our drivers will create. Every season brings new opportunities, and this year promises to be particularly captivating for fans and competitors alike.“
Spectators can look ahead for thrilling battles between top teams and their skilled drivers. However, TCR Eastern Europe offers more than that. Selected events will feature additional entries from the Austrian HistoCup, TCR Germany Trophy and the Croatian championship, significantly enhancing the competition.
Fully committed to TCR Eastern Europe remains Croatian driver Žarko Knego with Auto Klub Dubrovnik and their reliable Hyundai Elantra. Fraňo Dubreta will be Knego´s team mate at Red Bull Ring, as he will enter with Cupra Leon car under the Auto Klub Dubrovnik team. Another Croatian competitor through the season will be Robert Pravdić, who is returning to the championship after two years, this time with Hyundai Elantra in the colours of AMD Slovenija Avto.
Czech team Expres Auto Racing returns with Petr Čížek, who will compete full-time in his Cupra Leon VZ TCR, aiming for improved performances, and Vít Smejkal, who will participate in selected races.
The 2025 season is set to begin at Austria’s famous Red Bull Ring from April 11–13. Known for its fast straights and challenging corners. Subsequent rounds will take competitors to the high-speed Salzburgring, the technical Autodrom Most, Slovakia Ring—the longest track on the calendar—and the iconic Automotodrom Brno. Hungary’s Balaton Park Circuit will host the thrilling season finale.
TCR Eastern Europe offers drivers the chance to compete not only for overall victories and championship titles but also within special classifications such as the Junior, Gentleman and Women’s Trophies, ensuring a showcase of diverse racing talent. Kumho Tire continues as the official tire supplier, reinforcing the series‘ commitment to delivering high-quality racing.
