Rainy conditions continued on Saturday at Automotodrom Grobnik after Friday’s wet practice sessions, but the drivers are used to such challenging weather conditions, it is a part of their professional careers.
The pole position for the opening round of the TCR Eastern Europe season at Automotodrom Brno was claimed by reigning champion Adam Kout, who beat his teammate Jiří Zbožínek by just 0.005 seconds. meaning two Hyundai Elantras will line up on the front row.
The second row belongs to local driver Franco Dubreta in a Cupra, who was only 0.267 seconds slower than the fastest lap. Fourth fastest was Petr Čížek, also driving a Cupra, meaning the second row will consist entirely of Cupra cars.
Fifth fastest was another local driver Žarko Knego in a Hyundai Elantra, while last year’s vice champion Martin Kadlečík set the sixth fastest time in an Audi RS3. The seventh to ninth fastest times belonged to local drivers Luka Fabijančič, Niko Pulič and Bojan Miljkovič, driving a Hyundai i30, Hyundai Elantra and Honda Civic respectively.
Tenth fastest was Robert Pravidič, while Radim Adámek was eleventh, both driving Audi RS3 cars.
